As a regular user of the internet you might have sometimes wondered why we have only a few domain extensions (ex:, dot com, dot net, dot org, dot in etc). And why cant we have them of our own. Why can’t we create a domain extension like dot India, it would have been better if every Indian had a domain with his/her name like Imran(dot)India. This would have been so awesome. If these blog addresses are used by deserved bloggers, lots and lots of latest Fifa World Cup buzz would have bashed into the internet. But all these addresses are just wasted.
Why cant Google have a look on the misused blogger addresses? Why cant they remove these kind of misused registrations? These type of misused addresses are there in all groups of addresses. Eg: technology, gadgets, nature, mankind, science etc etc.
I hereby request Google to take necessary steps on this issue and help the blogging community.

New technology allows real time video streaming
For consumers just getting used to 3G technology on their mobiles, along comes 4G.
Motorola steals the show at Shanghai World Expo and unveils latest technology that allows full-time video streaming on mobile devices
Long-gone is the time when mobile phones were simply that — a means to make a phone call or text someone.
Then came phones with cameras, then phones which allowed you to play your MP3 collection, listen to radio, then find out where your are, and watch videos when you want. And you can still make a call if you're not too busy watching videos.
To be hip, the mobile on your hip has to a smartphone, capable of having the functionality of a PC, flexible enough to be a video and audio entertainment centre and send and receive data.
"Above all, it has to be pocketable," said Mohommad Ahktar, corporate vice-president and general manager for Motorola's network divisions in the Asia-Pacific region.
"It has to be smaller than 4 and a half inches and has to be able to fit comfortably in your pocket," he added.
"That's a lot to ask for in a single device. People want their smartphones to be able to do all things. Most people now have a smartphone when they travel and a PC at home. It's really the culmination of mobile phone and mobile computing technology."
Impressive results
Akhtar's parent company is enjoying impressive results from its mobile phone sales, expecting to sell between 12 and 14 million of the devices alone this year.
Driven by strong sales of its Google Android-powered smartphones, Motorola turned in impressive first quarter results with net earnings of $69 million (Dh253.4 million) and generating positive operating cash flow of $485 million.
But with so many providers of handsets, the challenge isn't in providing mobiles; it's ensuring networks will have the ability to service growth and have the capacity to provide full data streaming.
And that's where Motorola's expertise is vital.
While consumers are still coming to grips with 3G technology, Motorola is using the Shanghai World Expo to unveil its 4G service.
Some 100 million visitors are expected at the $60 billion expo showcasing the latest technologies and national pavilions from nearly 200 countries. The expo started May 1 and runs through to the end of October.
So what's the difference between 3G and 4G technology? Night and day, simply put.
"3G networks opened the door to video streaming. 4G delivers full-time video streaming capabilities." said Bruce Brda, Motorola's vice-president for networks.
Using its TD-LTE technology, Motorola used the expo to demonstrate the potential of 4G. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and allows for full wireless broadband streaming similar to that of fixed-line bandwidth.
A single TD-LTE dongle plugged into a laptop USB is capable of downloading 24 video streams at the same time. A dongle is a device similar to an oversized USB data storage key but about the size of a business card.
"No one is going to be able to watch 24 videos at once," Brda said.
"But our TD-LTE technology provides the capacity for full-time video streaming on mobile devices. We're proving that our TD-LTE technology provides broadband capacity to make that happen."
To drive home the point, Motorola's TD-LTE technology was installed on a modified Segway scooter, allowing for full-time video streaming on a laptop picking up the broadband stream via a USB dongle while also transmitting a live video stream to monitors.
In Japan, mobile provider KDDI has already selected LTE for the rollout of its 4G service.
"Consumers will be able to watch videos when and where they want. 4G technology is a commercial reality and LTE is the global standard," Akhtar said.
According to Ahktar, switching to 4G will fully implement the promise brought by the latest generation of smartphones.
"We have shown that 4G is a reality now," he said.
"You can stream and watch videos or process huge volumes of data over wireless broadband networks," he added.
"What is significant is that this technology opens the door for telecommunications providers to be able to offer very [cost-effective] data plans and packages to consumers; it opens the pipes to be able to supply huge amounts of data at a much cheaper rate then before. For consumers, this is a huge step forward."
By opening the pipes, Ahktar means that the capacity to supply huge streams of data more quickly is now possible, all with the TD-LTD technology.
But isn't there a fear that consumers will become fatigued with the quick pace of change.
"I think consumers have been fatigued by the fact that smartphones promise the potential to do so much," Ahktar said.
"What 4G does is to enable service providers to be able to deliver huge volumes of data, unleashing the full potential of the smartphones in attractively-price data plans. That's a win-win for providers and for consumers."
What is WiMAX?
WiMAX stands for Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access. Basically, it's an effective and proven means to provide advanced broadband access in fixed and mobile environments.
Is it different that WiFi?
Yes. It provides greater range because it can use more bandwidths, mostly in the 2.5-3.5 Gigahertz range.
Is it better than WiFi?
Absolutely. It is compatible with WiFi but has a wider range and is cheaper to deploy, bringing better wireless and broadband access to areas where it wasn't economical before.
Why is WiMAX important?
WiMAX technology as developed by Motorola has some 70 per cent commonality with LTE technology used for the latest 4G systems being rolled out.
In essence, the technology bridged the gap between 2G and the new 4G platforms, essentially making the existing 3G technology a stop-gap measure.
It's cheaper to deploy, tried and true and shows the possibilities of widespread wireless broadband regardless of the density of users or the environment.
Is WiMAX in Dubai?
Yes. Recently, for example, Motorola and du have tied up to provide a WiMAX network on Dubai Metro, providing mobile connectivity on train carriages and in Metro stations.

2day I;m gonna disscuss with you about disposable email addresses. Now you can give out your email address around the internet withour any fear. While the website policy clearly states that they “won’t sell your email address to third-parties,” you aren’t feeling very comfortable sharing your private email address with a website that you’ve never heard about before. What do you do then?
There are quite a few websites that offer disposable email addresses for free but my favorite is 10minutemail.com. Just visit the and you’ll get a temporary email address that you can use anywhere on the web just like your regular email address (you can even reply and forward message).
The email addresses will self-destruct after, you guessed it right, 10 minutes. They regularly switch their email server domains – you might have been allotted abc@hello.com today but the alias next day could become xyz@bye.com. This prevents forum administrators from blocking members that use temporary addresses.

Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan — who is not just a Bollywood icon but also an avid blogger — has now launched a new voice blog called Bachchan Bol where he plans to regular record the latest happenings in his life using his own voice.
Fans of Amitabh Bachchan can dial (022) 505678910 from their mobile or landline phones to hear the actor speak or they can even record their own voice comments. Amitabh Bachchan told the BBC that he would record at least twice a week for his “vocal blog” and that he’ll continue to write his (massively popular) blog just as before.
Bachchan Bol is a premium mobile service so you’ll have to pay around Rs. 6 per minute. This may also mean that phone users outside India currently won’t have the facility to dial into Bachchan’s voice blog.
How Bachchan Bol Service Works
You can think of Bachchan Bol as a pre-recorded podcast. The only difference is that you need a computer with an Internet connection to download podcasts but in the case of Bachchan’s phone blog, all you need is a phone connection which most people in India already have.

How do you use social networks like Twitter and Facebook if you are computer shy or don’t have access to the Internet?
Well, you can use a mobile phone to post updates without a computer but this woman is using something that most of us can’t even imagine — see uses a pen to write her tweets on a piece of paper and then send them to Twitter using a fax machine.
Hard to believe? Watch this news story:
The woman, whose Twitter handle is @dorothy_celery, uses a service from Celery that lets people send and receive email messages through a fax machine without requiring a computer or an Internet connection. Other than email, Celery now works with Twitter and Facebook as well.
The service costs about $8.98 a month and you can not only send tweets via fax but they’ll also fax you back any @replies to your Twitter account.

Muslims generally use the term “Halal” to designate food items that they are allowed to eat under the Islamic law (like fish). The opposite of “halal” is ‘haraam’, another Arabic term which is used for food products that Muslims are forbidden from eating (like pork).

A Search Engine for Muslims (and your Kids)
Extending the Halal and Haram concept to the Internet, Ramadan Kareem has created a search engine called I am Halal that might just prevent you (Muslims and Non-Muslims alike) from “accidentally” bumping into any explicit (or “Haram”) content on the Internet.
Unlike Safe Search in Google which simply removes all adult sites from search results, I-Am-Halal, which uses search results from Yahoo, employs a double-layered filter.
When you type a search query (e.g. sex) that can potentially retrieve “haram” search results, the search engine would require you to confirm whether you really want to see those search results. When you say yes, it will fetch the relevant pages but will still filter out content that is not deemed as family-safe.
The search results page will also contain thumbnail images of web pages alongside the site links and description. And in addition to websites, you may also use IAmHalal.com to search for images and news stories on the web.
I am actually quite impressed with “I Am Halal” and, other than the religious side of things, this is something good for your kids as well. For instance, if they type a query that is bound to return explicit results, the search engine would simply refuse to work for that query.

The latest data from Google Ad Planner suggests that female users form a majority on all popular social networking sites except Digg where 64% of the traffic is from male users. The male to female ratio on LinkedIn and YouTube stands at 1.

President Barack Obama warned American teenagers on Tuesday of the dangers of putting too much personal information on internet social networking sites, saying it could come back to haunt them in later life.
The presidential words of advice follow recent studies that suggest US employers are increasingly turning to sites such as Facebook and News Corp's MySpace to conduct background checks on job applicants.
Taking part in a question-and-answer session with a group of 14- and 15-year-old school students, Obama was asked by one pupil for some advice on becoming US president.
"Well, let me give you some very practical tips. First of all, I want everybody here to be careful about what you post on Facebook, because in the YouTube age, whatever you do, it will be pulled up again later somewhere in your life," Obama said.
"And when you're young, you make mistakes and you do some stupid stuff. And I've been hearing a lot about young people who - you know, they're posting stuff on Facebook, and then suddenly they go apply for a job and somebody has done a search."
Obama referred several times to "mistakes" he had made when he was at school but offered no specifics. He has previously admitted to drug use when he was younger.
A survey in June by careerbuilder.com found that 45 per cent of employers used social network sites to research job candidates and that Facebook, which says it has 250 million users worldwide, was their site of choice.
Some 35 per cent of the employers surveyed said they had found content on the sites that had influenced them to reject a candidate. Examples included inappropriate photographs, information about the applicants' drinking or drug use, or bad mouthing of previous employers, co-workers or clients.
Google Inc.'s Gmail service has been knocked offline in an outage that the company said affected a "majority" of its millions of e-mail users.
The disruption, which lasted under two hours on Tuesday, was a reminder of the growing dependence on Google's technology.
The disruption led tens of millions of Gmail users to get an "Unable to reach Gmail" error message as their computers tried repeatedly to reconnect to the service.
Google said it had taken some of Gmail's servers offline for routine maintenance, and underestimated the load that would place on other computers responsible for directing traffic to the appropriate Gmail servers.
Google said it was alerted to the failures within seconds. It said it has added capacity and made other changes to prevent similar incidents in the future. A separate outage on Monday had wiped out e-mail to a "small subset" of users.
Google says more than 1.75 million businesses use Gmail as part of Google Apps, which is Google's answer to business software from Microsoft Corp.
The last major outage at Google happened in May, when millions of people were cut off from Google's search engine, e-mail and other online services after too much traffic was routed through computers in Asia.

For instance, if your web address is something like http://blog4info.co.cc, the new URL will become aviary.com/http://blog4info.co.cc - hit Enter and there you have an editable screenshot image of that page.
Or add this bookmarklet to the bookmarks bar and you can even save yourself from typing aviary.com every time you want to capture a screenshot.
You can save the image to the desktop or further add annotation using the Type Tool, freehand brushes, arrows and other tools available in the Aviary editor. It can’t get easier than this.
And it even works with the Flash videos of YouTube.

Iranian authorities often block specific websites and blogs considered critical of the Islamic regime, but the timing of the latest clampdown suggested it was intended to undermine opponents of the hardline president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The default full screen button in the YouTube video player expands the video such that it covers your entire desktop area and all existing windows on the screen stay hidden as long as you are watching the video is this "maximized" state.
That’s one way of doing things but what if you want more control over the size of the YouTube video player, here’s a simple hack - just replace the word "watch" in the URL of any YouTube video with "watch_popup" and the video will expand to fit your browser window, not the desktop.
For instance, if the original YouTube video is located at ..

the same video can be accessed standalone outside the YouTube website at..
youtube.com/watch_popup?v=2mrRvUNlq50
Resizing the browser window will also resize the YouTube player and you can press F11 in Firefox to mimic YouTube’s full screen mode even with this hack.
YouTube & Sticky Windows
You may also use the trick for watching YouTube videos in sticky mode. Just open the YouTube video in a new window (not tab), resize it according to your need and use a program like Always on Top to watch videos while working on other tasks.
Embed YouTube Player
You can use the the watch_popup URL with the IFRAME tag to directly embed any YouTube video on your website without having to calculate the confusing height and width ratios necessary for the EMBED tag. In the case of IFRAME, specify the height or width as 100% and it will auto-expand to fit the entire available space on the site.

If you like to abandon your Yahoo Mail account in favor of Gmail, here’s some good news. You can now move copy all your old contacts and email messages from the Yahoo! inbox to your new Gmail address without having to worry about complex IMAP or POP3 configuration.
How to Move from Yahoo Mail to Gmail
Gmail now offers a new import mails option under Settings -> Accounts and Import. Enter the username and password of Yahoo Mail account and all the messages will be copied to your Gmail account in the next few hours. Once the migration is over, any incoming email on your old Yahoo address will be auto-forward to your Gmail account for another month.
The reason why I stressed Yahoo! Mail here is because it was the only web email service that required users to upgrade to Mail! Plus for them to move their data out to another email provider. That however changed with today’s announcement on the Gmail blog.
The Import function is currently available in new Gmail accounts only (not Google Apps) but it will soon be available for all so if you are in a hurry, just set up another Gmail account and use Mail Fetcher to copy Yahoo mails from this new address to your old Gmail account.
