Google, recently added another great feature. Now, it will offer you the easiness you wanted and demanded. Google has added image and voice searching. Now you can search by saying something or dragging an image on to the search box. This feature has made searching a task easier than ever. Let me go in a little depth of both the new features.

Google is one among the world's biggest web companies today. There are lots and lots of Google services which we cant avoid in today's world. These services cant be replaced by anyone else easily. But the real truth is that, Google is a planned buyer rather than a developer. Yeah, it is. Most of the user-fondly services of Google were launched by other web companies and when those services became successful and well-developed, Google just snatched it away from them. I am not criticizing Google on this aspect, even though I'm just bringing this into your notice. Let me prove it with examples...
1. Blogger: Blogger is one among the most used services from Google. Blogger is a free blog hosting platform which allows users to start their own blog without even a penny.
In August 23, 1999, Blogger was launched by Pyra Labs. As one of the earliest dedicated blog-publishing tools, it is credited for helping popularize the format. In February 2003, Pyra Labs was acquired by Google under undisclosed terms. The acquisition allowed premium features (for which Pyra had charged) to become free and the credit goes to Google for this step.
2. Picasa: Picasa is an image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, plus an integrated photo-sharing website.
Picasa was originally created by Idealab and owned by Google since 2004.
3. FeedBurner: Feedburner is a web feed management provider launched in 2004. FeedBurner provides custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers, podcasters, and other web-based content publishers. Maybe One among every 3 bloggers use this service.
On June 3, 2007, FeedBurner was acquired by Google Inc., for a rumored price of $100 million.One month later, two of their popular PROservices (MyBrand and TotalStats) were made free to all users.

People Hopper is a new application for Orkut that lets you take your profile image and 'morph' it into your friend's–using publicly available images from other Orkut users along the way. It is a fun app that also allows you to make new connections–since the images that show in your Hopper all come from people who have chosen to make their profiles public, you can click through to learn more about them and reach out to them. You can also morph one friend into another. No computer graphics are used to generate the path.
To be able to use People Hopper, one needs to have an Orkut account. If you don't already have one, create a new account here. Then, you can add the gadget by clicking on "add apps" under the "more" menu, or simply click here to use people hopper.
To generate a 'morph', People Hopper uses image matching technology. First, faces are automatically detected in public profile images and normalized for improved contrast and size. Then, for each image, we find other publicly available profile images that are similar to one another. Then, when you pick a friend you want to be your end match, we just hop along similar public images, step-by-step, until the connection is made! You can think of it as an image graph between friends, similar to the friendship graph already on Orkut. We don't use any face-specific features or metrics during this process. It is just a simple matching to find similar pictures.
The quality of the path depends on two main factors: the appearance of faces in profile images of Orkut users and the similarity measure used for image matching. Since we cannot control the appearance of profile images, it may happen that for a particular image there exists no visually similar image in the database. Developing better similarity measures is a topic of continuing research.

Google Inc.'s Gmail service has been knocked offline in an outage that the company said affected a "majority" of its millions of e-mail users.
The disruption, which lasted under two hours on Tuesday, was a reminder of the growing dependence on Google's technology.
The disruption led tens of millions of Gmail users to get an "Unable to reach Gmail" error message as their computers tried repeatedly to reconnect to the service.
Google said it had taken some of Gmail's servers offline for routine maintenance, and underestimated the load that would place on other computers responsible for directing traffic to the appropriate Gmail servers.
Google said it was alerted to the failures within seconds. It said it has added capacity and made other changes to prevent similar incidents in the future. A separate outage on Monday had wiped out e-mail to a "small subset" of users.
Google says more than 1.75 million businesses use Gmail as part of Google Apps, which is Google's answer to business software from Microsoft Corp.
The last major outage at Google happened in May, when millions of people were cut off from Google's search engine, e-mail and other online services after too much traffic was routed through computers in Asia.

Such features can be easily integrated into Google Talk through ‘bots’ which, in simple English, are like virtual friends who are online 24×7 and will always respond with a smile to your questions or requests.
Here are the eleven most useful ‘bots’ that transform Google Talk into a more useful program:
1. imfeeds@gmail.com - Add this IM Feeds bot as your Google Talk buddy and you’ll be able to read any blog or website that syndicates content via RSS feeds.
To subscribe to a website in GTalk, simply send a new IM message that says "sub labnol.org" where labnol.org is the site address that you want to read inside Google Talk.
2. friendfeed@bot.im - This secret bot lets you post to FriendFeed from Google Talk. You may submit either hyperlinks or text messages.
3. imified@imified.com - This imified bot turns Google Talk into a real powerhouse.

Now if you want to get a reminder after 50 minutes, send a direct message to twitter like "d timer 50 pick kids from school" and a reminder will automatically pop up in your Google Talk after 50 minutes.
